Q&A

Ever wondered why certain things are the way they are on IKK? Below are a series of Questions with Answers concerning certain aspects of the site. ^_~

Q: What does itsumo mean?

A: Actually, I've seen itsumo being translated into quite a few ways. In the site, itsumo means forever, but I've seen it mean, always and everlasting too. In general I suppose you can say it means extended periods of time....in a romatic way. =)

Q: Why is this site about Keiko Kitagawa?

A: Why not? It all started with three-lights.net. I stumbled upon this site again when I was trying to clear up my favorites list online. I was shocked because I remembered it as a site dedicated to the Sailor Starlights and Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon StarS and yet there I was looking at live version of my child hood heroines. I laughed at first because they looked so ridiculous but I calmed down enough to scan the site and see what Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon was all about. What I wanted to spend was just 10 min. I ended up staying 2 hrs! Lisa's site is not the site you can see everything of in 10 min.! I'm embarrassed to say I couldn't tell the actresses apart! Really, to the untrained eye, Asians really DO look alike. ^_^. I was so far behind everyone else, I didn't see a single episode until Act 35 came out for download. Automatically I was like, Sailor Mars is the best. She was always my favorite in the manga and in the anime so why should the sentai be different? So yeah, from there I found out her name was Keiko Kitagawa and I liked her ever since. I like her style and the way she carries herself outside of PGSM. She still is popular and on her way to the top WITHOUT taking the typical idol routes (I'll be writing up an article on that later. Oh the drama!) and I admire her for that and her dedication.

Q: What made you decide to make a fan site for her?

A: I love Three-Lights and Shingetsu and all those other well made PGSM sites because they work so hard to make everything look so nice. And so, I got jealous and figured I'd work hard to make my own site. Not to mention the fact that there are not that many nice English Keiko Kitagawa sites. A lot of them are (a) in Japanese and/or (b) have the worst layouts and hardest navigational systems EVER! I'm not trying to be rude, but in my opinion a good site should be presentable to EVERYONE. So if someone doesn't read English I still want them to be able to navigate nicely through the site and feel satisfied when they leave it. I call it, sharing the wealth. ^_^ And by learning by mistakes on bad sites and taking note of positives on good sites and making frequent visits to the Sailor Moon Pocky Box, I learned what NOT to do and what to DO when making a site informative and presentable.

Q: So how did you put the site together?

A: I underestimated the work that you put into to it, that's how I started it. Through some Serecindra drama, I asked Elly (the owner of Ballads and Bows) if she knew a great website building site I could try or someone willing to host a novice at website building. In fact she did! ^_^ After schooling me in the importance of HTML, she referred me over to my current web hostess, Molly. The nicest person EVER! XD. She gave me a host connection, explained to me the basics of FTP and all that jazz, showed me how to make the info appear all in the same window of the main page.......the whole 9 yards. So what I took for a two week project actually lasted three months! I had FTP issues (thanks a lot AOL), I had to learn how to hyperlink I had to reorganize the gallery 4 times before I settled on it's current format, I created 6 layouts before I settled on this one, I had to visit other fan sites to get a basic idea of what I should include, I had to gather numerous pictures from Three-Lights to make my gallery and basically every single image on the site, I had to learn how to convert .png images to .jpg, AND I visited the Help Desk at the Sailor Moon Pocky Box and thanks to them fixed MANY mistakes that would've made this site suck because I had no idea what I was doing.  It was a headache and a half but it was worth it. And I bet I STILL made mistakes!

Q: Why are there long spans in between updates?

A: Because I don't have FTP on my computer. AOL messes up with it. So I have to wait to go to my mom's house to use it on her computer. That is about 2 weeks in between. So you'll see updates consecutively for 2 days (because that's the weekend) I know, it sucks, so I'll be sticking announcements in the guestbook or in the comments section. Until I go off to college (Or get someone else to update for me) I won't have my own computer and that is a two years and some months wait. Hang in there though, that just means my updates will be HUGE and info might appear here a little late. But it's better than nothing right?

Q: Hey this site is really cool! And your artwork is lovely, do you take requests?

A: Ahhhhhhhh. I don't know. I'm sure I won't mind making layouts or drawing more pictures for the site, but if the amount of people requesting becomes too much, I'll have to say no. But I guess in he mean time I'll say yes, I do take requests. So if you want a particular thing to show up in the media section or whatever, if I can work it out I'll do it. ^_^ I hope I didn't just sign a death wish. ^?^

Q: Can I send you media you may not have?

A: Now what kind of question is that? OF COURSE! I can't get my hands on EVERYTHING Keiko, now can I? Just send it in a compressed zip folder or via MegaUpload or something. Especially if it's big.

Q: Do you need staff members?

A: Sure do. If you get Seventeen Magazine (Japan), or happen to be really good with wallpapers and skins and stuff, or even translations just e-mail me about it. You have to be ready to get e-mails like every single day so make sure available, none of that ghost crap. Like e-mail me to let me know if you're leaving for a while so I know not to sit there biting my nails expecting something from you. I really want this site to be exclusive so I NEED all the help I can get.  I'll put up an application guideline later to get rid of all staff member hopeless cases. ^_^
