Commercial ranking, JE Rumor Chart, and other good stuff + April 16, 2008

  I remember the days when I used to wish that Keiko would rank more in celebrity poles. And it was great the first time she ranked on the idol rosters, and again when she ranked for her work in Mop Girl. I suppose I should say enough is enough now because lately all I've been reading is Keiko ranking in this poll and that pole! It's interesting and all that jazz (especially this poll featured below thanks to a heads up by DB) but geez---if this was coupled with new appearances I would love it more!

    Thanks to poll results finally coming out about favorite actresses, commercial campaigns, dramas of 2007--Keiko has been featured on many of them and not only has she ranked---she's ranked exceptionally well. Like, considering her short resume--IMPOSSIBLY well---and that's a good thing, it means Keiko is making a bigger splash in the Japanese entertainment than I first thought. Not only is she topping charts from "Best New Face"  to "Actress to watch in 2008" she's ranking in the top 10 for best drama/ actress in Mop Girl and the top 20 for "New Face to watch in 2008." And let's not forget that DoCoMo 2.0 has been receiving TONS of love by topping commercial charts due to it's flashy cast. And critics can't help but comment on it. I have YET to read a report of Keiko's skills being inadequate or for her appearances to be overdone. People are actually looking forward to seeing more of her! So kudos to her budding career!

   Johnny's Entertainment fans got their hands on a JE rumor chart not too long ago. This rumor chart features the faces of big (and little) female stars connected to Johnny's boys. and DUH Keiko made the list! With some strong usage of hierarchy of scale, Keiko, Erika Sawajiri, Masami Nagasawa, and Saeko are the most notable celebrities. Keiko is attached to Jun Matsumoto and Yamashita Tomohisa as previously rumored but----but the rumor of Kamenashi Kazuya wasn't big enough to draw a connection from him to her, but----Masuda Takahisa?! That young boy?! Okay fine, he's the same age as Keiko, but some how I can't see her with a guy her age! Hmmmm...this is new... Well, enjoy the chart---I know I did! ^_^

   Lastly, I give my heart to Kazuha. She has to be one of the greatest friends a person could ask for and the love she has for Keiko is incredibly admirable. The girl is absolutely hilarious! Thanks to DB for the Q&A translations!

   Yes, she is funny. I imagine they keep each other great company! ^_^  Reading her blog is becoming a slight form of entertainment for me. She's just as bold as Keiko (although not as deep) with her entries.

  As far as school goes, Keiko is due to graduate next year. It looks like Keiko is staying on top of her studies (check out Keiko's student advertising for Meiji University, below) unlike her fellow Meiji classmate, Yamapi. Poor boy is a few credits short of graduating so he has to repeat a semester or so. Must be embarrassing for him, hopefully Keiko won't have to do the same. I highly doubt it though, she's really careful about planning her jobs around her school work.

   So yeah, that's all the miscellaneous news (and not so new?) that I can think of. I threw in some random comics of Keiko in Mop Girl done by fans of the series along with the purikura and all that jazz, below. Enjoy the goods!
