Been sleeping under a rock lately? It's alright, that happens to
the best of us. So in case you're not one of those cool people who've
joined (and are ACTIVE! you're still a lurker if you don't post) the forum,
you may or may not know that Keiko has started blogging again. YES! Thank God!
It's been a while but it's been worth the wait. Hopefully she'll update
frequently enough. Visit Keiko's blog
here, see translations of it (courtesy of
DB)
here and (courtesy of Ryuu)
here.
YOU MUST BE LOGGED IN TO VIEW THESE TRANSLATIONS! If you're not---your
loss! Because I'm no longer hosting entire translations. That's right
kiddies! No more freebees! This is how I will be posting her entries from
now on. The title of the entry links to her original post in Japanese and
the "MORE" links to the rest of the translation. Special thanks to DB for
the full ones. The entries below are featured from newest to oldest.
Keiko's Blog Updates
"へ(^-^)乂(^o^)ノ"
2008.06.25, Wednesday, 16:17
A friend asked, "What is that advertising work that you're writing about on your
blog?"
To people with the same question, my apologies.
I did not sufficiently explain it, so I want to write it down properly this
time.
With the advertising work I kept mentioning I mainly meant commercials.
The CMs that I've done so far were basically one day doing movie work and, one
day doing stills. That filming a mere 15 or 30 second CM would take a whole day,
and that to take a photo for a poster would also take a long time, surprised me
at first. "So making an advertising movie or stills takes that much time? I
realized the first time.

"Wall"
2008.06.23, Monday, 1:12
Once again an update.
I thought I'd do a work status report today.
The advertising work, movie clothes fitting, ect, ect, has made this a pretty
busy week for me.
As for the drama, filming filming for it has safely started. The producer,
director, staff and everyone are all kind, it's a place where one can't stop
smiling.
As for the role... I actually still haven't a good grasp on it yet, or rather,
I'm not it tune with it. That the role seems to be very much at odds with the
image I got when I started reading the script is confusing me.

"Script
Rehearsal"
2008.16.06, Saturday, 9:53
Yesterday we had the
Sun and Ocean
Classroom purification ritual, getting to know the script and having a
rehearsal.
It was the first day that the staff and cast would be complete, so the day
before I was too tense to sleep, so I went to
Bayside Studio super sleep deprived.
Apart from
Yamamoto Yusuke-san all the other co-stars were new to me, so having to go
greet them all made me so deathly nervous that my legs trembled. Lame isn't
it...?
But with the greeting, script reading and rehearsal safely behind me, it looks
like I managed to grasp the atmosphere of the of the set somehow! My anxiety
towards my role was also swept away. Now only the start of filming awaits.
And so after the rehearsals I went with
Oda-san to
do a publicity interview.
Oda-san is really bright and cheerful, but I couldn't help getting nervous.
Knowing Oda-san from watching television since I was little, I couldn't help
thinking how strange it is that the Oda Yuji-san I'm going to be filming with is
the same Oda-san. (Sorry for saying it so confusingly, but it's about the only
way I can explain this strange sensation.)

"i'll
try to do my best :-)"
2008.11.06, Wednesday, 11:49
I got an announcement today for you.
I will be appearing in CX's July drama serial "Sun and Ocean Classroom"
(broadcast every Monday at 21:00)!
Oda Yuji-san will be the lead in the school drama, and I will be the heroine as
the rookie high school teacher.
I got to confess to the readers of this blog, that when I first got the story of
this drama, I honestly thought, "I wonder if I'm right for it..."
My drama work experience is still insufficient , and quite a bit of time has
passed since my last drama, so...
Playing in a drama, what was that like? Filming for a drama, how did that go?
Can I remember how I did my lines last time?
Eventually, a mountainous anxiety encroached on me.

"my
best friend tomoca"
2008. 04. 06, Wednesday, 23:06
I went with
Tomoca, who's attached to my
agency,
to an ISBIT exhibition
yesterday.
Tomoca was also with
SEVENTEEN during my time there, and she was the first friend I made when I
came to Tokyo. I still remember when we first talked together during a photo
shoot. She was mysteriously imposing at first, having an aura of dignity when
she talked to me, who was fresh from the country and really nervous.
We have been keep company since we were 17, roughly five years now already...
My, how time flies.
Our relationship must seem quaint to outside observers, because when we're
together we may not saying anything to each other. But our relationship is one
where such a silence isn't awkward at all... At least, that's how it feels to
me.
Let me tell you of an event concerning Tomoca.

"Unrequited
Love"
2008.6.01, Sunday, 22:50
I've been reading
Higashino
Keigo-san's book "Unrequited Love."
On the band wrapped around the book it said, "Did the former lover become 'he'?
Or is it even now still 'she'?" Enticed by that phrase I started reading it, and
I read it right through to the end.
It isn't a simple mystery, because simultaneously raising the difficult themes,
"What's a person's essence? What's gender identity?", made it a very deep book.
And thanks to that, I can't easily explain it to you with a summary, alas...
Biology tells us that the difference between men and women lies in the so-called
"sex chromosomes" , either XX or XY, but knowing that it doesn't appear to be as
easy as that triggered something in me.
It lead to the following thoughts:

"First
Post"
2008.5.30, Friday, 16:48
Hello, everyone. It's Kitagawa Keiko.
It's been decided that this is the time to start my BLOG. From work news and set
reports to the trivial experiences of my daily life, I like to give updates of
as the mood strikes.
To begin with, as it's the first time, I'll do a self introduction.
My name is Kitagawa Keiko, 21 years old. I was raised in Kobe and came to Tokyo
at age 17.
My main focus is studying Economics as a fourth year university student.
And I'm simultaneously doing my best at learning to act.
As for personality, I'm such an introvert that even I can't believe it, and my
shyness and stage fright are agonizing...
My hobbies are movies, reading, and music.
