COFFRET D'OR: Summer 2008 + April 25, 2008

New COFFRET D'OR campaign ads have been released for the new summer campaign that will begin June 16, 2008 [source]. More information will come when available but I honestly have to wonder how much I'll be able to get. The COFFRET D'OR campaign isn't nearly as bold as DoCoMo 2.0. Interesting fact though: when you Google JP "COFFRET D'OR," one of the top search options is "北川景子 COFFRET D'OR." No other actress has that luxury. Cool, ne? People search for more information on Keiko's attachment to the campaign than any of the other actresses. Below are images from the summer and winter campaign. Keiko looks stunning as usual. ENJOY!

DoCoMo 2.0: Epilogue + April 23, 2008

   Ahhhhh! My heart aches! DoCoMo 2.0's year campaign has officially come to an end with the release of the DoCoMo 2.0: Epilogue commercial. Watch the TV-CM here or here and the Premium CM here. The gist of the commercial is years after they gathered in the bar of the first commercial. It's life after these eight friends go their separate ways in life. Fukiishii and Tsumabuki are still close. Fukishii still has her job as a flight attendant while Tsumabuki has taken the job of a pilot! Seeing Tsumabuki wiggle through the airport is absolutely hilarious! Anna and Nagase are married and have a child, and they make an insanely awesome couple. Asano is a very successful magician receiving awards left and right. The award he is winning in this commercial is the "Best Magician in the WORLD!" Keiko is doing a bit of world traveling herself and gasps in delight when she passes a store and sees Asano winning his award. Shame those too didn't end up married, ne? ^_~ Eita is in Paris---still riding his bike everywhere, isn't he? He sends a picture to Aoi who shows it to her pet alligator. Good luck, everyone! It's nice to see these eight friends wish each other well.

   This full cast gathering for the last commercial marks it as the second (although last) time all eight celebrities grace the story at once. For the first filmed part of the commercial called, "Nagase Family," make-up artists took Nagase's successfully adlibbed "eye" scene from the first commercial and carried over to his "wife" Anna and "son" Noah. This scene was adlibbed as well, with Nagase in the lead and his "wife" and "son" following dutifully after him. Everyone one fell in heaps of laughter after filming was done. It went smoothly, and was a successful end to Nagase and Anna's characters.

Asano's segment of the commercial went well too. He entered the set looking more refreshed than usual in a nice suit, trimmed hair, and a freshly shaved face as would be demanded for someone attending a major awards ceremony. They had to film his segment quickly because he had to catch a plane to film for a different project. He is handed a crystal trophy shaped like a pigeon wearing a bowtie (how convenient ^_^). With quick adlib, the commercial is successfully completed. At one point he mentions something about Keiko (unfortunately I can't translate that part right so I'll just leave it at that).

   Tsumabuki and Fukishii's segment of the commercial it really cute. Tsumabuki shows an obvious change in occupation, walking smoothly (and really silly) next to Fukishii who once again dons her cute, blue flight attendant uniform. A foreign woman accidentally walks in and cuts Fukishii of in the middle of filming. Realizing her mistake she apologizes and laughs along with everyone else. Other than that slight interruption, everything went okay.

   Eita's segment takes place in France. It's supposed to be a lovely spring day but it rained earlier on the day of filming so the ground was wet and one could tell it rained before. Eita's flashy styling became a topic of conversation but everyone liked it and decided there was no need to change it in order to show a passage of time. Aoi's segment took her back to the set of the first commercial for her character is a brightly lit room with an alligator for a costar. It rustled in the corner every now and then, interrupting filming. It was calm enough in the end to land the shot.

   And finally there is Keiko's segment. She isn't wearing an obnoxious amount of head to toe pink so I suppose that shows how much she's matured in the "years" that have passed, ne? Keiko is filmed walking in a public area to give the sense of activity in a foreign city. She walks past a wall of monitors dressed casually in denim with a messenger bag which makes for easy travel when sight seeing. She turns and appears to be looking at Asano in the monitors even though they're all blank. It would be difficult to act like you're seeing what isn't there, right? But Keiko does well and filming ends smoothly

   The filming ended this way. DoCoMo 2.0 became a fun series where there was unending laughter on set, no matter who was being filmed. What happens to these eight friends further in the future will be something to have fun thinking about until they meet again. For now? COFFRET D'OR Nail Salon + April 13, 2008

Keiko owns the COFFRET D'OR site all by her little lonesome for the month of April! Unfortunately there isn't a commercial to match the new layout---but that's okay, there is something more! With Keiko to head the campaign, COFFRET D'OR is opening it's very own nail salon using the newest cosmetic addition to the line-up! 20 awesome nail colors and a...contest? More information will come as I receive it, but Keiko is supposed to have something more to do with the opening of the store.

Glico: Palitte Ice Cream campaign + April 13, 2008

Don't you just LOVE ice cream? I do! So when I found out that Keiko had a new (and totally unprecedented thanks to her commonly-late-on-the-uptake official site) commercial, I was totally psyched. And even MORE so when I found out the campaign was attached to Glico (pocky sticks, anyone?). And this commercial marks the first campaign she's had all to herself since Suntory: Let's Diet Water. I suppose after NTT DoCoMo and Kanebo, the next big thing would be Glico. It can only go up from here. ^_^

Round and round on the carousel she goes, smiling in what has to be one of my favorite commercials for her EVER. Palitte is the newest addition to the Glico dessert family and is a blend of chocolate on vanilla ice cream. Honestly, I dunno about packaging it that way, but hey, Keiko makes it look yummy! Stardust Section 3 and Cool Generation Auditions + April 13, 2008

   Stardust is doing it again! Behold the next set of auditions! First it was SMOOCH, but now Stardust is doing it double time with Keiko to advertise for the Section 3 Auditions as well as the Cool Generation Model Auditions. Keiko heads the guest celebrity party with fellow Section 3 members, Masaki Odada (Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, ROBO*ROCK), and Erika Sawajiri. The Section 3 Auditions are set to begin in April and on through June. There is no word on which audition date Keiko will appear. Honestly this site is harder to maneuver than the SMOOCH audition one for some reason. T_T The Cool Generation Model Audition is a collaboration between Stardust and Friesta Sasebo. Once again, Keiko is a guest celebrity along with Erika Sawajiri and Kou Shibasaki. There is also no word on which audition date Keiko is due to appear on. Either way, Stardust considers Keiko a big enough star to use for advertisement in order to draw a crowd. And hopefully some raw talent.
    Last year's SMOOCH audition was pretty successful. All winning talents are featured on the Section 3 page and many of them are young girls. Their r�sum�'s are growing little by little and Stardust is putting a significant amount of work into properly promoting them. I'm impressed. ^_^ Hopefully these new auditions will gain more media attention so I can have awesome pictures of Keiko nurturing young talent to add to the site!

KOBE COLLECTION 2008 SPRING/ SUMMER + April 13, 2008

    The "KOBE COLLECTION" is a famous fashion festival in Japan where some 10, 000 fashion conscious young women gather every year. The trends for this year's SPRING/SUMMER collection consists of candy colors and bohemian styles and was held in Kobe and Tokyo. The "KOBE COLLECTION S/S" really delivered this year with guest models such as Jun Hasegawa, Yuko Ogura, and many popular JJ models. The legendary Makiko Esumi graced the runway in a gorgeous Christian Lacroix ensemble as a special secret guest. Lacroix's world renowned designs were chosen for the grand finale walk where all the guest models including Keiko (who also walked for Red Pepper), wore Lacroix's designs. There were a couple of live performances that featured the likes of J-Urban duo, Twenty 4-7 (their song is the theme song for the show this year); J-R&B diva, DOUBLE; and international pop star, BoA.

   Keiko's runway walk would insult Ms. J. Alexander---but I was totally smitten. The runway if freakin' awesome and there were so many stylish women in the audience. As a Kobe native, it must be an honor for Keiko to strut her stuff in this famous fashion show for both the Kobe and Tokyo presentations. Watch 8 min. of KOBE COLLECTION love on Youtube.

Handsome Suit + April 13, 2008

The newest Keiko movie has been unveiled and it's a romantic comedy of transforming proportions! "The story revolves around the unattractive Takuro (Muga Tsukaji), who is the chef and owner of a restaurant. He confesses his love to a beautiful part time worker (Keiko), but she turns him down and leaves the store. However, Takuro later finds a magical suit that transforms him into a good looking model (Shosuke Tanihara)." (credit: Tokyograph) The movie is set to premiere in the fall and last month there was lots of media coverage on the completion of the film. It's receiving a decent amount of attention and with the right attention, we could be looking at a box office hit! Cross your fingers and enjoy the goodies below! ^_^

DoCoMo 2.0, Keiko's Official site update + April 13, 2008

At long last the DoCoMo campaign has come to a heartbreaking end. Honestly, it's my favorite campaign that Keiko has been apart of, to date. It was a good year, it's been real, and number one for 2007 makes it a very successful commercial campaign. The DoCoMo page has a special "flashback" page for each character that is a mix of commercials and character to character text messages. It's a cute and fitting farewell. The last two commercials have featured all the DoCoMo talents giving their farewells except for Keiko. I dunno if maybe they will do another commercial to show where her characters head off to, but in the meantime, RIP DoCoMo 2.0! *weeps tears and unhappiness*

On a lighter note, no Keiko fan in their right mind could've missed Keiko's official site revamp which contains off shoots from her January Pretty Style (PS) magazine appearance. The news section reveals some new magazine appearances (FINALLY!) Check out the IKK Shopping Guide for more information.

Commercial ranking, JE Rumor Chart, and other good stuff + April 16, 2008

I remember the days when I used to wish that Keiko would rank more in celebrity poles. And it was great the first time she ranked on the idol rosters, and again when she ranked for her work in Mop Girl. I suppose I should say enough is enough now because lately all I've been reading is Keiko ranking in this poll and that pole! It's interesting and all that jazz (especially this poll featured below thanks to a heads up by DB) but geez---if this was coupled with new appearances I would love it more!

    Thanks to poll results finally coming out about favorite actresses, commercial campaigns, dramas of 2007--Keiko has been featured on many of them and not only has she ranked---she's ranked exceptionally well. Like, considering her short resume--IMPOSSIBLY well---and that's a good thing, it means Keiko is making a bigger splash in the Japanese entertainment than I first thought. Not only is she topping charts from "Best New Face" to "Actress to watch in 2008" she's ranking in the top 10 for best drama/ actress in Mop Girl and the top 20 for "New Face to watch in 2008." And let's not forget that DoCoMo 2.0 has been receiving TONS of love by topping commercial charts due to it's flashy cast. And critics can't help but comment on it. I have YET to read a report of Keiko's skills being inadequate or for her appearances to be overdone. People are actually looking forward to seeing more of her! So kudos to her budding career!

   Johnny's Entertainment fans got their hands on a JE rumor chart not too long ago. This rumor chart features the faces of big (and little) female stars connected to Johnny's boys. and DUH Keiko made the list! With some strong usage of hierarchy of scale, Keiko, Erika Sawajiri, Masami Nagasawa, and Saeko are the most notable celebrities. Keiko is attached to Jun Matsumoto and Yamashita Tomohisa as previously rumored but----but the rumor of Kamenashi Kazuya wasn't big enough to draw a connection from him to her, but----Masuda Takahisa?! That young boy?! Okay fine, he's the same age as Keiko, but some how I can't see her with a guy her age! Hmmmm...this is new... Well, enjoy the chart---I know I did! ^_^

   Lastly, I give my heart to Kazuha. She has to be one of the greatest friends a person could ask for and the love she has for Keiko is incredibly admirable. The girl is absolutely hilarious! Thanks to DB for the Q&A translations!

   Yes, she is funny. I imagine they keep each other great company! ^_^ Reading her blog is becoming a slight form of entertainment for me. She's just as bold as Keiko (although not as deep) with her entries.

As far as school goes, Keiko is due to graduate next year. It looks like Keiko is staying on top of her studies (check out Keiko's student advertising for Meiji University, below) unlike her fellow Meiji classmate, Yamapi. Poor boy is a few credits short of graduating so he has to repeat a semester or so. Must be embarrassing for him, hopefully Keiko won't have to do the same. I highly doubt it though, she's really careful about planning her jobs around her school work.

   So yeah, that's all the miscellaneous news (and not so new?) that I can think of. I threw in some random comics of Keiko in Mop Girl done by fans of the series along with the purikura and all that jazz, below. Enjoy the goods!

Yeah, it's late, but so what? How many of you have this downloaded? Lol, anywho it's Keiko's only variety show appearance but she needs to appear on them more because she just rocks out loud. She just a human being and doesn't pretend---she's just so strait forward that the hosts can't help but poke fun at her. It seriously is a good laugh, she ought to be on more shows like this. I'm still pushing for her to be on Cartoon Kat-tun. Maybe I'll get lucky. Cartoon Kat-tun isn't the best show ever but it does have a nice questioning section that could help us get to know Keiko better. ^_^
